About Us

Over 11 years ago, Larry and Jean Nelson were approached by two friends with a wine business to consider joining them to be partners and have Jean manage the wine boutique and organize the wine

tastings and events.  Larry’s passion of wine became Jean’s business.

Through the years, the two have traveled exploring the different regions of wine growing and appreciating the blood, sweat and tears that go into the love of wine and its creating. Attending wine tastings and seminars world wide have enhanced their passion and desire to share with their clients and friends the world of wines. Many winery owners and wine makers have visited the boutique and have enjoyed this southern hospitality in action.  Personal wine tastings and wine dinners are an adventure for the winejeanie and her guests.

Jean grew up in New Orleans and Larry in Ottumwa, Iowa but “he got to the south as fast as he could”.  They moved to New Iberia for Larry’s medical practice over 28 years ago.  They entertain frequently with wine being a group adventure and exploration along with food pairings with local “guest chefs”.  The “grazing island” pairs well with Larry's cellar.
